Her poetry has been published in Australian journals, and she has been runner-up in poetry competitions in the British magazine The Writers’ Forum. Shelda’s main passion is to promote student writing, which boosts self-esteem and gives students confidence to develop as writers. During her career, she has produced numerous books and zines of creative writing, and enjoys witnessing the delight on students’ faces when they see their published work and experience success in state and national writing competitions. An avid punster, Shelda released Pundemonium in 2010. She has conducted poetry workshops at shelters for the homeless, and has read her poems at nursing homes and community clubs. Shelda enjoys reading, films, travel, mosaics and playing the piano accordion. She also writes poems for friends’ birthdays and special occasions, which are not only amusing but from the heart.
